Remembering RaRa

Excerpt from the “Catman Speaks” About page:
RaRa was our beautiful little Lilac Point Siamese “panther” who died in August 2010 from cancer, just a few weeks shy of her 12th birthday. She was so graceful and athletic that we had always assumed she’d make it to age 20 plus… We are heartbroken…
What a character… Nobody was allowed to touch her tail! And what a back talker… She especially loved MM’s step-dad and demanded in loud Siamese – Ra!Ra! – that he rub her with both hands. Then she would gratefully pat him on the face and knock off his glasses…
Thanks to this little bundle of personality, “Hep me, RaRa”, “Going White Cat”, “Jump RaRa Jump”, “Cat Roundup”, and “Sweet Kitty” all became part of the family lingo.
“Sweet Kitty” is deeply missed…

Stumbled across a funny YouTube video featuring a Lilac Point Siamese that “talks back” when she doesn’t want to come inside, just like “Sweet Kitty” did…

A heartbreaking turn in RaRa’s declining health. Sweet kitty was barely eating and limping from an astonishingly fast growing tumor near her shoulder blade. Then, in the middle of the night, her labored breathing deteriorated to the point that we thought she might pass. We knew what had to be done today…

RaRa was laid to rest near the gazebo at Oma’s.

I’m sorry I don’t have encouraging news. Although RaRa outwardly looks good, her chest x-rays were much worse at today’s (10 day) follow-up vet visit… Probable advanced cancer… (Lungs too poor to undergo biopsy for definitive diagnosis)… Days or weeks…

To add insult to injury, Catman has been hissing at her because she’s been to the vet. Shoo Catman!
General health stats: Cough: Worse ; Breathing: Increasingly labored; New med: Lasix to see if breathing eases; Appetite: Good; Energy: Good; Hydration: Good; Weight: Good/Stable
